To coordinate and monitor the implementation of technology transfer programs/activities, patenting and also monitoring the legislation of the guidelines and regulatory related to research and commercialisation.

ACTIVITIES

1. To coordinate and monitor the implementation all the Technology Transfer projects and activities under the 5 years national development plan that has been undertaken by the MOSTI biotechnology agencies.
2. To identify, assess and coordinate the commercialisation of R&D products that have potential to be marketed through:-
   1. Companies that show interest in commercialising the technology;
   2. Negotiation with companies or researchers for technology, either funded by BIOTEK or not; and
   3. To coordinate the preparation of agreement of commercialisation.
3. Coordinate and act as committee to the Invention Disclosure assessment.
4. Regulate and monitor the application for patent funding under the Technology Development Fund.
5. Monitor and coordinate the status of R&D products that are granted with the fund for patent filing.
6. Manage and coordinate the legislation of Standard in Biotechnology.
7. Coordinate the development of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
