Putrajaya, 13 October 2009 – Y. Bhg. Datin Madinah binti Mohamed, Secretary General of MOSTI officiated the Technology Foresight Workshop organised by the National Biotechnology Division with support from SIRIM Berhad. The Technology Foresight Workshop will run from 13 to 15 October 2009 at the Palm Garden Resort, Putrajaya.

The workshop is organised for senior management staff of MOSTI with the objective to build capacity in this essential strategic skill. Hence it is envisaged that this workshop will provide participants with an overview on technology foresight, to build understanding of methods and processes and to understand the use of technology foresight tools in decision-making, strategic development and planning.

The National Biotechnology Division invited speakers from both international and local experts in technology foresight works. There are Dr Chatri Sripaipan and Dr Suchat Udomsopagit, Senior Advisors to the National Science and Technology Development Agency, Thailand; Dr Robert Yi Chung Lo, from the Industrial Technology Research Institute, Taiwan; Dr Taeyoung Shin, Director of Innovation Studies from the Science and Technology Institute, Korea; Dr Abdul Wahid Karim from Shell Malaysia, Mr Mohd Zakwan Mohd Zabidi form MIGHT; Mr Eddie Fong, Malaysian Plastic Manufacturers Association and also Madam Goay Peck Sim and Madam Rafidah Moktar from SIRIM Berhad.
